Dr. Reyes is a Professor of Pediatrics and Microbiology & Immunology. He received his BS in Microbiology from Texas Tech University, Lubbock. His M.S. in Medical Microbiology from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and his PhD in Immunology
from the University of Texas Medical Branch.
Dr. Reyes’ research focuses on the regulation of antigen processing and presentation to T cells, understanding the role of class II MHC expressed by mucosal epithelial cells and myofibroblasts in local antigen processing and presentation, the
interactions of H. pylori and the gastric epithelium are being used as a relevant model system, understanding the H. pylori and host interactions that lead to inflammation and tissue damage.
Dr. Reyes was inducted into the Academy of Master Teachers in 2013.
