Dr. Szauter joined the UTMB faculty in 1990 after completing training in Internal Medicine, and fellowships in Gastroenterology and Nutrition. Her academic career has focused on medical education across the continuum with a focus on undergraduate
medical training. She served as the co-director of the Internal Medicine Clerkship for over 15 years, and remains actively involved in faculty development through Scholars in Education Program. Her scholarly interests include research in medical education,
the development of clinical skills, and professionalism.
Dr. Szauter was inducted into the AMT in 2007.
