Ashley Guillory, PhDAssistant Professor of Instruction
Director of Admissions

Dr. Guillory is an Associate Professor in the School of Medicine Department of Physician Assistant Studies. She received her PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Houston in 2012 and pursued postdoctoral studies in the UTMB Surgery department. She joined the Physician Assistant Studies department in 2017 where she teaches the PA Pharmacology and research courses as well as serves as the Director of Admissions. She also lectures in the UTMB Doctorate of Clinical Laboratory Sciences Pharmacology course. In addition to her work with health professions learners, Dr. Guillory also is passionate about faculty development and has presented faculty development sessions at UTMB, local primarily undergraduate institutions, and regional conferences. She holds leadership positions in various professional societies including the Physician Assistant Education Association and the American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics. Her Educational research focuses on active learning techniques to improve learners' mastery and retention of pharmacology. In 2019, Dr. Guillory received the American Society for Pharmacology Educator Travel Award to present an educational scholarship project assessing the use of case-based discussions to review infectious disease therapeutics at the Experimental Biology Meeting.

Dr. Guillory was inducted into the Academy of Master Teachers in 2021.
