Bookmarklets (sometimes called favelets) use code snippets (usually JavaScript) to temporarily modify the page view to highlight accessibility considerations. They function similarly to browser plug ins but don't require installation.
Bookmarklets can be a great way to quickly test accessibility while working on a web page.
Give it a try!
- Navigate to the bookmarklets page at UTMB
- Navigate to the Color and Contrast section
- Select the Gray button and the page will be rendered in grayscale
- Refresh the page to go back to color
- If the page is difficult to read in grayscale there are likely color contrast issues or issues for people with colorblindness, or both.
