Microsoft Excel accessibility checklist

Verify the following

  1. All tabs have meaningful names
  2. Remove all blank worksheets
  3. Cell A1 is not blank and contains the title of the page
  4. Every column should have a header describing the data
  5. Avoid merging cells, it makes it difficult for screen reader users to track data
  6. Ensure text is readable and is a contrasting color from the background (Base font: 12pt 
  7. Avoid text in images
  8. Add alt text to describe visual components
  9. Run the Accessibility Checker (Select the Tools menu | Check accessibility) and correct items as necessary
