Day 25: Doesn't have a heading

See what we did there?  Just like you wouldn't buy a book with out a title, table of contents, or chapter titles, people using digital technology are less likely to read content lacking headings or with poor heading structure.

The correct use of headings:

  • allows the user to quickly access the context of a page
  • generates a quick navigation when using a screen reader
  • allows for easy content skimming
  • creates a logical and contextual hierarchy of the content
  • makes web pages more friendly to search engines
  • brings return customers when content is quickly accessible
