Day 15: What is audio description?

Audio description (AD) addresses the accessibility of the visual images of theater, television, movies and other art forms for people who are blind or visually impaired. AD is a pre-recorded audio track describing important visual details that cannot be understood from the main soundtrack alone. Audio description is usually added during existing pauses in dialog and can include elements such as the action, settings, facial expressions, costumes and scene changes.

Check out an example of audio description in this YouTube trailer for the movie Frozen.
