MissionThe UTMB Patient Placement’s mission is to provide efficient, courteous, knowledgeable information to both internal and external customers including all patient entry points and referral centers. Patient throughput, accurate patient placement meeting the patient and physician needs, and coordinating all aspects of hospital flow is our top priority.
The Patient Placement CenterThe Patient Placement Center is responsible for the admission of all patients from all UTMB campuses (Galveston Campus, League City Campus, Angleton Danbury Campus) including clinics, emergency rooms, day surgery units, pre-admits, direct admits, and transfers within the hospitals.
The UTMB Patient Placement Center coordinates transfers of patients from local, national, and international areas.
